1.How to Enter Contest(s)
a.Contest is open to all U.S. residents. Some contests have minimum age requirements, which will be stated on-air prior to contesting. Employees of WKRR, Dick Broadcasting Company and on-air sponsors, their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, distributors and retailers, advertising and promotional agencies and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each or employees of any other radio station or broadcast company are not eligible. Winners may be required to complete a W-9 Income Tax form. All federal, state and local laws apply on all contesting and may be the responsibility of winner.
b.Depending on a particular contest, children, 18 or under MAY NOT participate in or enter the hourly and daily contests. Announcements will be made on air as to how to enter each contest.
c.The WKRR toll-free phone number for call-in entries is 1- 800-762-5923. Changes to the toll-free number will be announced on-air. The address for mail-in entries is "CONTEST NAME" - WKRR 92.3, 192 East Lewis Street, Greensboro, NC, 27406. A specific contest name for mail-in entries may be announced on-air. Mail-in address changes will be announced on air.
d.Unless otherwise specified, kids can ENTER as many times as they wish until they win. Winning restrictions are specified below and in the Grand Prize rules. Odds of winning will depend in part upon the number of entries received.
e.WKRR - 92.3 FM, Dick Broadcasting Company contest clients co-sponsors and their advertising and promotional agents are not responsible for errors in transmissions, misdirected calls, disconnected phone lines, lost or misdirected mail or e-mails, errors in faxes or shipments, busy phone signals, inability to access the WKRR or Two Guys Named Chris website(s), or incomplete entries/addresses.
a.Contests are open to all legal U.S. residents. Employees of Dick Broadcasting Company, affiliates of Dick Broadcasting, its affiliated and subsidiary companies, contest co-sponsors and their advertising and promotional agents, employees of other radio stations and the members of the immediate families of anyone so employed, are ineligible to participate or enter.
b.In the event that a child is young and needs assistance in calling or writing WKRR parental or guardian assistance is permitted in making the call or mailing the entry, but nothing more.
c.Contestants may win a WKRR hourly and/or daily contest no more than once within any promotional period. The promotion period MAY BE specified in the Grand Prize rules. Multiple winners from the same household are NOT permitted. Individual contests may have different specified rules.
d.Entry deadlines will be announced on air and in the GRAND PRIZE SWEEPSTAKES RULES.
3.How To Win Contests.
I.WKRR offers several forms of contesting:
a.Call-in. Listener's can win such contests by being the _th caller as instructed by the on-air personality. Listener(s) should call WKRR's toll-free phone number. On-air personalities will announce specifically what number caller needs to be in order to win.
b.Call-in with correct answer. Listener not only has to be the _th caller but also must answer the question correctly in order to win the prize. For example, a "Code Word of the Day" listen-to-win game is generally conducted daily in which the child must be the designated caller and must identify the "Code Word of the Day" that is disclosed periodically throughout that day, with broadcast beginning at 5AM CT. Should a child be the correct caller but have the wrong answer the on-air personality will take the next random caller. The contest will continue until a selected caller has the right answer and the prize is awarded.
c.Mail-in. Listener can enter such WKRR contests via letter or postcard sent to WKRR. WKRR personnel or agency will handle all mail. WKRR will either randomly select the winner from among all eligible entries received or will announce means of selection on air.
d.Mail in with correct answer. Entry must be selected at random and entry must contain the correct answer(s) to the question(s) specified air. Alternately, there may be a random drawing from among all eligible entries received with the correct answer(s). The specific format will be announced on air.
e.Skill/Character. Winner will be selected by pre-announced judging criteria. A skill contest may or may not also include a random element (e.g. randomly selected postcards get to perform talent act). Means of entry, subject of sill contests and entry deadlines will be announced on air.
f.All prizes announced on-air will be awarded (except in case of prize forfeiture).
II.To qualify to win, listener must comply with all rules and meet all eligibility requirements. In addition, listener (or parent or legal guardian of winner) must provide all requested identification information (e.g. complete name, complete address, age, area code and phone number) during the original phone call to studio or in the mailed-in entry. In the event that the listener hangs up before all necessary information is given, or the mailed-in entry does not contain all necessary information, the child will be disqualified from the contest win. At WKRR's option, the on-air personality may then move to an alternate contestant.
III.Decisions of the WKRR judges are final as to any and all contest matters.
IV.WKRR reserves the right to provide for other means of contest entry. Any such additional means of entry will be announced on air.
a."Hourly" contesting prizes each generally have an approximate retail value of $20 (multiple per day). There may be more than one "hourly" prize awarded during a given hour, and in some hours WKRR may not award a prize. WKRR will generally award a "daily" prize within approximate retail value of a minimum of $25. The value may change depending upon the promotion.
b.Unless otherwise specified, all prizes or prize certificates must be picked up at WKRR studios and will be verified with address information given to WKRR upon the win. Any prize or prize certificates not claimed or redeemed within thirty (30) days of winning will be forfeited by the winner. WINNER ASSUMES THE RISK OF SAFE ARRIVAL OF PRIZE OR PRIZE PACKAGE WKRR IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST, MISDIRECTED OR STOLEN MAIL, OR UNSAFE ARRIVAL OF A PRIZE, PRIZE CERTIFICATES OR PRIZE PACKAGE, IF MAILED.
c.Contest prizes are not transferable by winner. Prizes may not be substituted or redeemed for cash by winner. However, WKRR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SUBSTITUTE FOR ANY PRIZE WITH A PRIZE OF EQUAL OR GREATER VALUE. At WKRR's discretion, forfeited prizes may or may not be awarded to an alternate. In the event the prize loses value or becomes worthless because of factors or influences outside the control of the station, the station is not required to offer an alternative prize or prizes.
d.WKRR is not responsible for prizes that are provided, delivered or supplied by an outside sponsor or promoter. Nullification or cancellation of events, shows or concerts are not the responsibility of WKRR and a substitution prize will not be awarded for cancelled events, shows or concerts that are produced from an outside sponsor, source or advertiser. In the occurrence an event is rescheduled, WKRR is not responsible for winner's inability to attend rescheduled event and winner will not be provided a replacement prize.
a.Payment of all federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner, parent or legal guardian of the winner. Winner, parent or legal guardian of the winner may be required to sign an IRS form 1099 or the equivalent (e.g. a "Prize Value" form) along with affidavits.
b.By entering the hourly and daily contests, the winner (and their the parent or legal guardian of winner, if applicable) agrees that acceptance or use of the prize may entail certain risks and/or may be dangerous to him/her, and voluntarily assumes all risks associated with acceptance or use of prize. By entering, said winners and his/her parent or legal guardians, heirs, executors, administrators, and affiliate of WKRR and Dick Broadcasting company it's affiliates and its subsidiary companies, their agencies and their respective officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives (the "Releasees") from any and all losses, injuries, damages, and expenses anyone might suffer or incur as a result of his/her participation in the contest or acceptance or use of the prize.
Contestants and parent or legal guardian of contestants further agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Releasees from and against any and all claims, losses, injuries, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) by whomever or wherever presented, resulting in any manner from participation in the contest or acceptance or use of the prize.
By entering, each contestant agrees that the Releases without further obligation or permission may use listener's winner's name, likeness, video, film, photograph, voice and biographical data for a any and all purposes in any and all media except where prohibited by law.
Upon request WKRR, winner and his/her parent/guardian will promptly complete and sign any documents effectuating these releases.
c.Winner (or parent or legal guardian of prize winners) will be required to sign a "Prize Value Form" (or 1099 or the equivalent) and an "Affidavit of Eligibility and Release" release prior to acceptance of any prize valued at $600.00 or greater, and for any prize as to which WKRR, it its sole discretion, believes it is warranted.
3.Failure of winner or parent or legal guardian of winner to comply with the contest rules or to promptly sign a required release form will result in a contestant's disqualification and forfeiture of prize.
4.WKRR reserves the right to make changes in the rules. Any such changes will become effective upon notice via on air announcement or other means of wide dissemination. From time to time, WKRR may run other contests under separate set of rules. WKRR reserves the right to terminate the hourly and/or daily contests at the end of any Grand Prize promotional period.
5.No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. Some restrictions may apply.
6.All entries become the property of WKRR and will not be returned. Any insurance, registration or license fees are the responsibility of the parent or legal guardian of the winner.
7.Listeners may obtain a copy of these rules online at www.rock92.com or by picking up a copy of rules at the WKRR Studios between 9am and 5pm Monday through Friday (except holidays). Studios are located in Downtown Greensboro, North Carolina on 192 East Lewis Street, 27406.
